SkyCaddie launches compact SX400 GPS

Equipment

SkyCaddie’s new SX400 gives golfers the powerful features found in the award-winning, Tour-proven SX500 model, in a more compact size.

Boasting a four-inch HD touchscreen and legal for competition use, it is available in pro shops and golf retail outlets now, priced at £299.95.

With its 4-inch HD touchscreen the SX400 joins the larger SX500 (5-inch screen) in delivering golf’s quickest and most comprehensive way to measure yardages while providing the best-possible view of every hole you play.

Like the SX500, the new SX400 Pin Position feature, providing the ability to get distances to today’s pin positions, while also getting all the benefits of SkyCaddie’s detailed IntelliGreen and IntelliGreen Pro maps. Using the SX400’s Pin Position feature is a doddle: you simply customise the pin settings by entering the day’s pin sheet or pin zone information into your SkyCaddie to get accurate yardages to today’s pin position.

Dynamic HoleVue technology automatically presents yardages to every hazard, carry and lay-up point on each hole, from your current angle of attack, with more details and yardages appearing as you zoom in, while IntelliPath Technology gives yardages to targets along and beyond your target line, instantly showing you the relevant carry and run-out distances with no need to aim.

The SX400 comes preloaded and “ready-to-play” with over 35,000  ground-verified SkyCaddie course maps. With hundreds of golf course changes mapped on foot by SkyCaddie in the UK each year, the SX400’s convenient and rapid connectivity puts the very latest golf course maps into your hand before every game of golf.

Like its bigger brother the SX500, the SkyCaddie SX400 also has a host of other features including: Mark Ball, which helps you track how far you hit the ball with each club; Target List View, which displays a quick list of all the targets ahead of you on the hole; Big Number View which gives large, easy-to-see Front, Middle and Back readouts; and Tee Box Selection, Gender Selection, Dual Green Support, a Yards or Metres option, Stat Tracking and a North Indicator.

The SkyCaddie SX400 also offers Digital Scoring options for Strokeplay and Stableford, with handicapping adjustments. You can also track Total Putts and Fairways Hit, and if you turn your SkyCaddie SX400 to the left or right you will see an instant Digital Scorecard in landscape mode.

You also get a host of automated help such as Auto-Course, Auto-Hole Advance and Auto-Zoom, making the SX400 virtually touch-free from the car park to the 18th green.

The SX400 comes in a compact, sleek, highly water-resistant body that’s easy to hold or to attach to your golf bag or golf trolley. Boasting an exceptional battery life of over 20 hours, more than three 18-hole rounds of golf, the SX400 is ready for extended playing time – just like its big brother the SX500. And by using multi-constellation satellite navigation systems, the SX400 and SX500 provide enhanced accuracy under tough weather conditions or when under tree cover.

The SkyCaddie SX Series is built around the SkyGolf 360 platform, providing unmatched wireless connectivity for golfers to upload performance data captured during their round. SkyGolf 360 allows golfers to keep all of their performance data in one place, regardless of whether it comes from a SkyCaddie rangefinder, a SkyTrak swing sensor or a SkyTrak launch monitor. A single platform is not only to the golfer’s advantage, but it is also to the advantage of a teacher, PGA Professional or reseller to be able to offer all the tools a golfer needs to improve their performance – with the confidence that their customers are getting the very best solution.

The SkyCaddie SX400 retails for £299.95 and comes with a 1-year UK & Ireland Membership (Birdie) as an introductory offer. After your first year, memberships start at just £29.95 per year for the Birdie which gives you hundreds of exclusive ground-mapped course updates each year, ensuring that only SkyCaddie GPS users have the latest, most accurate information about the hole ahead.
